Do I need to be a licensed Esthetician or Cosmetologist to do lash extensions?LICENSE A license is issued by a government agency that gives an individual permission to practice a certain profession or trade. It is a form of regulation and typically requires the completion of specific educational requirements. In the case of an Esthetician or Cosmetology license, it requires completing a number of credit hours, a number of contact hours, and passing a State Board exam. IN SHORT A license is a legal requirement to practice a profession, while a lash certification is a credential that indicates completion of training in a specific skill or technique related to lash extensions. The State of Colorado requires an Esthetician or Cosmetology license to professionally apply lash extensions. An Esthetician or Cosmetology license is also required to insure your business. Regulations vary from state to state, therefore, it is your responsibility to research regulations with regards to performing lash services and take the steps necessary to understand and abide by your state laws. Why don't you teach Classics, Hybrids and Volumes at one time?It has been our experience that students new to lashing can be overwhelmed learning everything at one time. We believe it's important for new lash technicians to have important information that will help them build a strong foundation and have confidence that they understand how to properly place Classic lash extensions before moving on to more advanced techniques.

What will I need after I get certified to get started and how much will it cost?These are a range of costs and will depend on which products you select. Keep your eyes open for sales. All in all, not including your lash space, your initial star-up costs will be somewhere between $500 and $1500.
