I've been waiting to share this with you. I still have a few details to take care of before the grand opening, but I'm proud of how far I've come and I think now is a good time to begin to share a little about this part of my journey.
This has been a momentous year for me. I graduated from Denver East high school, completed Emily Griffith's Esthetician's program, passed the Colorado board exam for esthetics, lashed everyone I could, attended my first beauty conference, was a junior sponsor for Juneteenth's first ever Beauty Market, received my mega lash certification in Atlanta and my master lash certification in New York... and even squeezed in a cruise to the Bahamas...what a fun year. And now I am in my own space building a lash brand. Trust me there were moments when I didn't know whether I was coming or going, but if there's one thing I've learned over the last couple of years, it is that if you have a vision you're passionate about, it all just somehow comes together.
your vision will propel you...
When we walked into the space that is now myEgo lash & beauty boutique, all my mom and I saw were the possibilities. I don't think we realized just how much work we were getting ourselves into. We pulled up all of the old carpet, painted the walls and had new floors installed. I learned about tenant finish (a term I had never heard of before) and working with contractors. I learned that things don't always go as planned, but you don't give up, you just work through it.
We've worked hard for weeks to create a space that feels good to our clients. One thing that is so important to me is that my clients feel special when they walk into myEgo lash & beauty boutique, and I think we've achieved that in terms of the space we've created. We are still deciding what images we'd like to put on the walls, but whatever they are, they will be affirming.
So a couple of updates I'd like to share is that we will be unveiling products by two wonderful local vendors in January, Gem Scents Aromatics by Spirit Corley and Ashae Soaps. Secondly, another talented esthetician will be joining me in February. I will share her name after she makes her own announcement, but I am super excited to have her in the space with me.
Once again, I want to thank everyone who has ever believed in me, encouraged me, prayed for me, has been a client, has liked my social media pages... You are why this unexpected journey is so sweet.
I love you all
